야훼는 나의 목자, 아쉬울 것 없어라.

푸른 풀밭에 누워 놀게 하시고

물가로 이끌어 쉬게 하시니

지쳤던 이 몸에 생기가 넘친다.

그 이름 목자이시니

인도하시는 길, 언제나 곧은 길이요,

나 비록 음산한 죽음의 골짜기를 지날지라도

내 곁에 주님 계시오니 무서울 것 없어라.

막대기와 지팡이로 인도하시니 걱정할 것 없어라.

원수들 보라는 듯 상을 차려 주시고,

기름 부어 내 머리에 발라주시니,

내 잔이 넘치옵니다.

한평생 은총과 복에 겨워 사는 이 몸,

영원히 주님 집에 거하리이다.

이 시는 지친 영혼에게 주님이 어떻게 쉼과 보호를 주시는지를 잘 보여줍니다.

The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside still waters,

He refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,

I will fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely Your goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
