에수님께로 다가오는 양들/ 53*63/ 화선지에 물감/2025 /Through the Eyes of Jesus

` 예수님의 눈으로`~라는 책을 읽으며

나오는 장면. 사방에서 예수님께로 다가오는 양들을 바라보시는 예수님~~

  이 장면은 요한복음 10장 27절 " 내 양들은 내 목소리를 알아 듣는다. 나는 그들을 알고 그들은 나를 따른다." 라는 말씀이 떠 올려진다. 보아온 그림에서는 양들은 항상 순백의 어린 양들이었다. 그런데 그림을 그려가면서 나는 죄도 없고 티도 없는 양이 아닌데 어떻하나? 그러나 성경에는 예수님께서 죄인을 부르러왔다고 하지 않으셨는가? 그래 희망이 생긴다. 예수님께서 이미 잘 너무나도 잘 아신다. 우리가 죄인인 것을 ~~~ 우리가 모르고 있고 잊을 뿐... 죄로 얼룩진 양 ,새까만 양, 성질이 더러워 뿔이 뾰족하여 다른 양들을 찌르는 양, 우리는 그렇게 부족해도 예수님께 나아갈 수 있는 것이다. 부족해서 죄인이어서  부르러 오셨다고 하신다. 그 죄에서 구원하기 위해서 ~~ 양들은 그릴 때는 많은 형제들 속에서 엄마를 더 많이 차지하기 위해 더 가까이 다가가기 위해 엄마 품을 파고 들었던 생각을 하며 그렸고 예수님은 내가 이제 엄마가 되어 자녀들을 품에 안고 누워 있을 때의 그 충만한 기쁨을 생각하며, 그렇게 행복한 기분이 아니실까? 하는 마음으로 그려 보았습니다.

While reading the book “Through the Eyes of Jesus,” there is a scene where Jesus looks at the sheep coming toward Him from every direction.

This scene reminds me of John 10:27:
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

In the paintings I had seen before, the sheep were always pure white, spotless lambs. But as I began to paint, I found myself wondering, What about me? I am not a lamb without sin or stain. Yet doesn’t the Bible say that Jesus came to call sinners? That thought gives me hope.

Jesus already knows us — knows us far better than we know ourselves. He knows that we are sinners, even when we forget or fail to see it. Sheep stained by sin, dark sheep, sheep with rough tempers and sharp horns that hurt others — even such sheep can come to Jesus. It is because we are lacking, because we are sinners, that He came to call us and to save us from those sins.

When I painted the sheep, I remembered being among many siblings, trying to get closer to my mother, pushing in to be held in her arms just a little more. And when I painted Jesus, I thought of the deep joy I feel now as a mother, lying down while holding my children in my arms. I wondered if perhaps Jesus’ heart is filled with a happiness like that.
